Advance Care Planning Australia Host Event Competition details
This competition is being conducted by Advance Care Planning Australia. By registering to host an Advance Care Planning event, event hosts go into the draw to win $200 worth of catering for their Advance Care Planning event. There will be one (1) winner drawn in each Australian state or territory (8 total).

Prize(s) – description | There will be eight (8) Prizes available of $200 worth of catering. The catering provided will be determined following discussion between ACPA and the eight (8) winners. The catering can only include non-alcoholic beverages and food. |

Determining the Winners | Eight Winners (one from each state or territory) will be randomly selected on 8 March 2025 at approximately 11:00am (AEST) at Advance Care Planning Australia, Level 2/51 McKechnie Dr, Eight Mile Plains QLD 4113 |
Notifying the Winners | Each Winner will be notified by email within 3 business days of the winners being determined. |
Supplying the Prize | A member of the ACPA team will work together with each of the eight (8) Winners to determine which caterer or café will be used. The caterer or café is required to provide an invoice prior to being approved. Once both parties have agreed on the catering supplier or cafe, the Winners will specify which food and non-alcoholic beverage items they have selected up to the value of $200 (including GST). A member of the ACPA team will request an invoice from the specified third-party supplier covering the correct catering order. ACPA will review the order, and if it complies with the Terms and Conditions set out in this document, Brisbane South Palliative Care Collaborative, Metro South Health will then arrange for this invoice to be paid. Once the invoice has been approved for payment, the Winners are responsible for liaising with the catering supplier to ensure the food and drinks are delivered at the preferred date and time. |
Publication of winners | The names of all eight selected Winners may be shared across our digital channels including our website, social media channels and across email. The winners will be required to provide ACPA with a photo of consenting people at their event enjoying the catering, along with a 150 word about their Advance Care Planning Week event. ACPA may share this photo on our digital channels including our website, social media channels and email. It is the winners’ responsibility to obtain appropriate consent from all people featured. |
Terms and Conditions of entry
Part A - Introduction
1. All information within this document form the Terms and Conditions.
2. By participating in the Competition (Register your event for your chance to win free catering), Entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, the terms and conditions include the Schedule to the Terms and Conditions.
3. Entries must comply with these Terms and Conditions to be valid.
4. Where there is an inconsistency between the Schedule and Parts A to J of these terms and conditions, and any ACPA communications promoting the competition, the schedule will prevail.
Part B - Privacy
5. The Promoter will collect and use each Entrant’s personal information for the purposes of:
(a) conducting the Competition and for promotional purposes, public statements and advertisements in relation to the Competition;
(b) providing information about the products and services offered by the Promoter; and
(c) research to improve its products and services.
6. By entering the Competition, Entrants consent to the use of their personal information as described in these Terms and Conditions.
7. Entrants may change and/or update their personal information in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy https://www.advancecareplanning.org.au/privacy-statement.
Part C - Who can enter the competition?
8. To be eligible an Entrant must be:
(a)Residents of Australia; and
(b)aged 18 years or above.; and
(c) Represent either a social group, community group or organisation hosting an ACP Week event.
Notwithstanding, the eligibility criteria specified in (8), directors, volunteers and employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter or its related companies or agencies are not eligible to enter. Immediate families mean spouse, ex-spouse, child, step-child, parent, step-parent, legal guardian, sibling or step-sibling.
(b). Entrants must represent either a social group, community group or organisation hosting an ACP Week event.
Part D - How to enter the competition
9. To enter, each Entrant must comply with the ‘How to Enter’ section of the Schedule.
10. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to request verification of the age, organisation/workplace, identity, postal address or any other information relevant to participation in the Competition of all Entrants. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who provides false information or fails to provide information that is reasonably requested by the Promoter.
11. The eligibility of Entries is within the sole discretion of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse to accept Entries that do not meet the criteria set out in ‘Part C: Who Can Enter the Competition’ or Entries that are otherwise incomplete, indecipherable, offensive or otherwise do not comply with the Terms and Conditions or which contravene any applicable laws or regulations.
12. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant who has breached any of the Terms and Conditions, has engaged in unlawful or improper conduct or any other conduct to undermine the fairness of the Competition as determined by the Promoter (e.g. tampering with, or using or exploiting errors in, the entry process to obtain a competitive advantage over other entrants).
13. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, misdirected or damaged entries or other communications.
Part E - Prizes
17. Each Prize is not transferrable to another person, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
21. A winner's use of the Prize is entirely at their own risk.
Part F - How the winner(s) are determined
24. The competition is a game of chance.
25. At the time and date specified in the determining the winner(s) section of the Schedule, each valid entry will be entered into a process of random selection.
26. The Winners will be determined by the selection of eligible Entries at a random draw.
27. The number of winning entries to be selected will be the same as the total number of Prizes specified in the Schedule.
28. The Promoter's decision will be final and binding.
Part G - Notification and claiming the prize(s)
28. The Promoter will provide each Winner with instructions on how to claim their Prize. It is the responsibility of each Winner to comply with the Promoter’s instructions.
29. The Promoter reserves the right to request each Winner to provide proof of their identity, organisation and/or proof that they were responsible for the winning entry.
30. Each Winner agrees to participate and cooperate, as required, in all publicity activities relating to the Competition, including, without limitation, being interviewed, photographed, filmed and recorded. Each winner authorises the Promoter to use such content for advertising and publicity purposes in any media in perpetuity worldwide.
It is the responsibility of the Winner to obtain consent from any person to feature in any of the Promoter’s media and communications.
31. It is the responsibility of each Entrant to notify the Promoter of any change to their contact details.
Part H - Unclaimed prizes
32. The Promoter will take all reasonable steps to identify and notify each Winner via the provided Contact Details in an attempt to ensure that each Winner receives their Prize in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. However, if a winner cannot be identified or does not claim the Prize within 3 business days of the date on which the winners are selected, their Prize will be forfeited and the Promotor will redraw the Prize.
The Promotor is not responsible (all or in part) for any late, lost, misdirected or damaged communications.
Part I - No liability
34. Any Prize supplied by a Third-party supplier is subject to the terms and conditions of that Third party supplier. Each Prize may come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If those guarantees are not complied with, then you may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
The Promoter shall not be liable and excludes all liability (including negligence) for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) for damage to property, personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition, or the use or consumption Prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
Part J - Termination of competition
37. The Promoter reserves the right to vary the terms of, or cancel, the Competition. Each provision of these Terms and Conditions are severable and no severance will affect the operation of other provision.
